Florida Prep Dress Code

At Florida Preparatory Academy, our dress code supports an environment of professionalism, school pride, and readiness for academic and life success. With the launch of our official school uniform, all students are expected to arrive on campus dressed in a way that reflects our shared values of respect, focus, and community.

Official School Uniform (Effective 2025-26 School Year)

All Florida Prep students are required to wear the official school uniform during the academic day. To support a smooth start to the year, each student must have the following minimum uniform kit:

Required Uniform Items (5th & 6th Grade):

  • 1 Sky Blue Florida Prep Polo
  • 1 Pair of Uniform Bottoms (pants, shorts, or a skort)
  • 1 Florida Prep PE Shirt
  • 1 Pair of Florida Prep PE Shorts

Required Uniform Items (7th - 12th Grade):

  • 1 Gray Florida Prep Polo
  • 1 Blue Florida Prep Polo
  • 1 Pair of Uniform Bottoms (pants, shorts, or a skort)
  • 1 Florida Prep PE Shirt
  • 1 Pair of Florida Prep PE Shorts

Uniform items are available individually or in bundle kits and must be preordered through our official form. Preordering ensures your student receives the correct sizes and all required items prior to Registration Day.

Q&A

We strongly recommend completing your uniform preorder no later than two weeks before Registration Day to ensure all items arrive in time for the beginning of the semester.

All uniform items must be ordered through our official form.

 Yes. Items can be purchased individually or as part of a bundle kit. However, each student must have the minimum required kit based on their grade level.

Students who do not preorder may experience delays in receiving their uniforms or may not receive the correct sizes. This may affect your child’s ability to participate fully on Registration Day.

Yes! Families may also preorder optional items like a Florida Prep performance jacket and gym bag. These items are not required, but they’re highly recommended for added comfort and organization.

 No. All students must be in full uniform during the academic day. Exceptions are only made on designated Spirit Days or Dress-Up Days, which will be announced in advance.

All students must wear closed-toe shoes during the school day. Sandals, slippers, slides, and Crocs are not permitted.

 

No. Uniforms must be worn as purchased, without any alterations, additions, or customizations.

Additional Expectations

Dress for Special Occasions

On designated dress-up days or formal events, students must wear business attire, including collared shirts, ties, slacks, or dresses of appropriate length. Jeans and casual footwear are not permitted.

Residential Life Dress Code

Florida Prep's Residential Life dress code standards prepare students for real-world expectations of grooming and proper presentation. The following guidelines apply:

  • Weekday Mornings: Boarding students attending breakfast during the week must be dressed in the academic uniform, ready for the school day. Academic uniform is required outside of the residence halls until 4:00 PM.
  • After 4:00 PM:  Non-dress code attire is permitted.
  • Weekends: Non-dress code attire is allowed both on and off campus, promoting a more relaxed environment.
Non-Dress Code Attire Guidelines
  • Clothing must reflect good taste and decorum.
  • Prohibited: Midriff exposure, low-cut, see-through, sleeveless, or provocative tops.
  • Logos and Artwork: No inappropriate language, slogans, artwork, or logos.
  • Jeans: Permitted but must be in good repair.
  • Pants: Should be worn at the waist.
  • Shorts: Must adhere to the finger rule (no shorter than fingertips when measured along the outside of the leg/thigh).
  • Tattoos should be covered.
  • Ragged, obscene, or vulgar clothing styles are not allowed.

Final determination of acceptable attire lies with Florida Prep administrators. Adjustments may be required based on the direction of the Residential Dean or staff. If unsure, students should seek clarification in advance.

Hair, Accessories, and General Appearance
  • Hair must be neat and well-groomed; extreme hairstyles or unnatural colors are not allowed.
  • Jewelry and accessories must be minimal and not disruptive.
  • Hats and sunglasses are not to be worn indoors.
Spirit Days
  • On designated spirit days, students may wear school-appropriate casual attire, including jeans and Florida Prep T-shirts.
  • Clothing must still adhere to guidelines for modesty and appropriateness.
