Peking University Welcomes Wyatt Fischer

Sometimes a student leaves such a searing impression on our community that the mere mention of his name evokes an outpouring of rich memories and the immediate desire to know where he might be now. Such is Wyatt Fischer.

Wyatt Fischer

A student at Florida Prep from 2012 – 2015, Wyatt was the quirky kid with a wicked sense of humor and an IQ that placed him always in the top of his class. His interest in Mandarin and Chinese culture led him to gravitate to Florida Prep Mandarin instructor, Wenshun Tang, and most afternoons the two could be found pouring over textbooks as Wyatt honed his Mandarin language skills to AP level.

On track to be the Florida Prep Valedictorian for 2016, Wyatt left Florida Prep during his senior year, moving with his family and transferring to a new school in California, and from there he was accepted to Whittier College, a private liberal arts college in Whittier to study Marketing.

It is now no surprise to learn that Wyatt recently joined the Peking University in Beijing to study Chinese History on a full paid scholarship.

Peking University is consistently ranked as one of the top academic institutions in China, alongside nearby Tsinghua University, and is among the most selective universities for undergraduate admissions. It also hosts an undergraduate liberal arts college unique to Asia.

We are tremendously proud of Wyatt’s achievements and all here at Florida Prep wish him  祝愿怀亚特同学中国行愉快!(Live your dream) as he embarks upon his new Chinese adventure.
