Fall & Spring Semesters | Male Boarding Students

Boys Required:

  • Swim trunks
  • 1 pair shower shoes (flip-flops)
  • 8-10 pairs of underwear / briefs
  • 1 pair conservative or black tennis shoes
  • 8-10 pairs white or black athletic socks (calf length)
  • 3 pairs (minimum) khaki or Navy blue shorts
  • 3 pairs (minimum) khaki or Navy blue casual chino pants/slacks (no cargo pants)
  • 3 (minimum) Florida Prep polo shirts (can be purchased on campus)
  • 4-6 White V-neck t-shirts – AFJROTC STUDENTS
  • 6 pairs black dress socks (calf length) – AFJROTC STUDENTS

Boys Optional:

  • 2 Wash and Wear shirts
  • 2 Wash and Wear pants
  • 1 Dress Shirt and necktie
  • 1 pair dress pants
  • 2 pairs casual shorts
  • 1 pair jeans
  • Beach towel
  • Slippers
  • Your own mattress pad, twin sheets, comforter, blanket, pillow, etc… (Or you may use the ones the school provides.  You may also upgrade to a custom memory foam mattress for an extra charge.)
  • Small photos in frames
  • Sunglasses/non-aerosol sunscreen
  • Clothes hangers
  • Calculator
  • Wash cloth, towels
  • Students should also bring personal toiletries and basic school supplies such as pens, pencils, paper, and other daily use items.  These and the starred items may be purchased at FPA.

Fall & Spring Semesters | Female Boarding Students

Girls Required:

  • Shower caddy
  • Modest bathing suit
  • Shower shoes (flip flops)
  • Modest Pajamas and Robe
  • Jeans, casual pants, shorts, blouses
  • Conservative (or black) tennis shoes
  • 3 pairs (minimum) khaki or Navy blue shorts or skorts
  • 3 pairs (minimum) khaki or Navy blue casual pants/slacks (no cargo pants)
  • 3 (minimum) Florida Prep polo shirts (can be purchased on campus)
  • 6 pairs crew-length black or white athletic socks (calf length)
  • Conservative hair barrettes or hairbands for medium to long length hair

Girls Optional:

  • Slippers
  • Beach towel
  • Stud earrings, conservative or hoop – no bigger than a dime (one earring per ear)
  • Fingernail polish remover
  • Conservative fingernail polish
  • Nightlight
  • Two dresses with shoes
  • Small organizing containers
  • Your own twin size sheets, pillow, mattress pad and comforter/blanket (if you like; these items are also available from the school.)
  • Small photos in frames
  • Sunglasses and non-aerosol sunscreen

 Both Female and Male Students 

  • Boarding Students: Boarding students may bring items for personal enjoyment such as a small television (14" maximum), self-contained stereo systems, radio, and personal computer, provided such items fit in their desk space. These items are not to be loaned to other students. Boarding students are encouraged to bring items to decorate their rooms (pictures, posters, flags, etc.)
  • Boarding and Day Students: All Students are welcome to bring equipment such as tennis racquets, baseball gloves, guitars, amplifiers, keyboards, skateboards, and surfboards.   Students must be responsible for these items.  Skateboards and surfboards will be collected and stored on campus by Administration.


Students may not borrow or loan iPads, cellphones, computers or any other electronic equipment to each other.


WHAT NOT TO BRING: Prohibited Items

  • Electrical appliances (i.e., irons or hot plates), hair clippers, beepers, weapons, knives, ammunition, explosives, flammable materials, aerosol cans.
  • Bicycles, regular or in-line skates, personal barbells or other weight-training gear.
  • Expensive jewelry (gets lost easily), or other expensive or irreplaceable personal items.
  • Any non-prescribed medication (i.e., Tylenol, aspirin, Sudafed, ointments, powders, Q-tips, powdered power drink mixes, and similar items. Prescription medication must be turned in to the Academy Nurse at Check-In for prescribed dispensation.
  • Music CDs, DVDs, or digital files of pornographic nature, or with explicit or profane lyrics.
  • No chewing gum; Florida Prep is a gum-free campus.
  • No tobacco products or paraphernalia.
  • No e-cigarettes or associated products or other inhalants or vaporizers.
  • Bows and Arrows
