Florida Prep has a long tradition of excellence in sports -- five state basketball championships, two in baseball, track state medals, and three Olympic athletes (two bronze medals!). Even more important than winning, however, are the crucial lessons learned in competitive sports: learning to work as a team, sportsmanship, and how to manage both "the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat." Our coaches are expected to teach character as well as the finer points of the sport.
Student clubs and planned activities also provide excellent ways for students to find enjoyment and possibly discover a life-long passion. We provide unique clubs and activities beyond that offered at traditional schools such as surfing (Brevard County offers world class surfing conditions) and learning to fly a plane.
Getting off-campus on the weekends is important in balancing the school-week routine. What other area in the world offers the outstanding attractions of east central Florida? From Disney and Universal theme and water parks to Kennedy Space Center and Sea World; from local beaches and rivers to world-class shopping and dining, Florida Prep students have access to a wealth of entertainment options.
